I'm thinking about painting this above the crib, depending on where we decide to put it.
So cute
And if the mural painting goes well in the kids room I'm going to try this one in the master bedroom:
Cool huh? I can't wait to get started!

Decorating Ideas for the kid's room!
I can't wait to start decorating the kids room! I have so many ideas! Arianna (2.5 yrs. old), and the baby (boy, due Sept. 3rd) will be sharing a room so I've been doing lots of research and brainstorming on how to decorate their room. I'm going for whimsical, and I liked the idea of a "birdie" theme. A couple days ago I stumbled across a fabric that I love and I'm going to decorate the whole room around it. Here it is:
It's Michael Miller's "Birds of Norway" fabric and I LOVE it! It has birds, which Im psyched about, and plenty of colors to choose from to make the baby's bedding. I'm going to make Arianna's comforter out of this fabric and then make all the baby's crib bedding with different fabrics that coordinate with it. Chocolate, dark orange, blue, green.
Im going to sew these birdies with scraps of fabric left over after making all the bedding:
Then I want to make wall decor and a baby mobile like these:
On one wall in their room Im going to try to paint a tree mural that looks kind of like this:
The walls are painted cream and Im going to paint the silohuette of the tree in chocolate brown and add some birds too. I've never painted a mural before... or painted anything else for that matter... but I can draw and I think I can do it so Im going to try! The wall I'm going to paint it on is a pretty tall wall so it will be a challenge because I want the tree to be pretty big (like 8ft. tall, or maybe even 10ft. ) Wish me luck! I'll post pics when I get started!
Ramiro is going to build Arianna a bed with droors like this one:
Yes, he is super man! I can't believe he can just build this stuff! I show him a picture and he's like "sure, I can do that" Then he just does some research and builds it! My hero!
So those are some of my inspirations for the kids room! I'm going to get started on the decorating later this summer, after we get all moved in and settled! The baby is coming in september so i have until then to get it done. I'd better get started on the tree before too long though, cuz I don't think I'll want to be climbing up and down a ladder painting when Im 8 or 9 months pregnant!

Remodeling inspirations
Later this summer we are going to paint the kitchen cabinets cream and antique them with black. I love this cabinetry:
We're going to extend the island and paint it like the cabinets I think:
Ramiro and my Dad are putting a rock fireplace (wood-burning) in the living room this week! I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Im going to decorate the guest bedroom/office in rustic rocky mtn. style, and Ramiro is going to build me a log daybed!!! Don't you wanna stay here?!?!
Oh there's so much to do! I'm so lucky I have a handyman for a hubby!!!

Our new house!
Well, we bought our first house last month! Yay! I can't believe we're living in the mountains! We've got almost all of our things there now, just a few more pieces of furniture to move and we'll be done! Ramiro has been working hard up there during the evenings to fix things up. There's lots to do but what he's been doing looks awesome! So far he's installed new baseboards, and textured and painted some of the rooms. We're getting new carpet installed on Wednesday! After that I'll be able to start unpacking and decorating! I can't wait! I'll post some pics of the house that we took before we started working on it.
